New customer deals with Sky - just boxes required

    Hi guys,

In addition to maintaining my own setup the father in law recently had me put in FTA Sat and Saorview which is fine and working great (actually using a sky zone 2 dish and octo lnb ironically enough).

However he now wants to get the sports in....

Anyone know what sort of bargaining power for monthly pricing he'd have off sky? They wouldn't need to cover anything other than supplying the box so would save on dish, lnb and installer time (self install if they provided it would be the way to go really).

He wants it in two rooms so is talking a HD+ box and multiroom hd (non recording) box.

If they insist on sending an installer they'd be there all of 5 minutes basically plugging the boxes in.

Any idea what monthly he'd be able to get the below for?
    Entertainment mix
    Sky Sports
    HD & Multiroom

Very insightful. Was great the way you drew on your own experience of negotiating with their sales team to give a detailed answer....

Thanks for that. Thought the lack of a full install to offset would reduce it as they wouldn't be writing the cost off over the 12 months.
Would buying his own sky box and simply needing a card sent out make a difference as the customer acquisition cost is as close to 0 as possible then?

I'm talking about negotiating the ongoing monthly cost if possible?

You're not going to get any monthly reductions as a new customer (doesn't matter if you don't need equipment or installation), once you're 12 months in they'll do a deal 99% of the time, to keep you.
