I'm being means tested as I'm under the age limit thing. Anyway, I was in the bank with my father and he can only get a 4 month statement, the manager in the bank confirmed this. Anyone know if they'll accept this?

Write a letter to the branch stating you under the data protection act, you want a copy of your file.

You have to pay €6.35 and you will get back a complete record going back years.

    Just out of curiosity:
How many years could the banks go back in their records ? What would be the maximum ? There must be a huge storage facility somewhere if it is a record for many years.

A single computer with a few hard drives could easily store the entire banking records of the country for the past 100 years. Although it wouldn't be done this way, numerical data doesn't take much space at all.
