Power washer and snow foam lance in lidl

Does this look like it would be any good or has anyone used one?

    http://www.lidl.ie/cps/rde/xchg/SID-CAAC64F0-13E1B804/lidl_ri_ie/hs.xsl/index_33799.htm

Power washer that comes with a foam nozzle and detergent bottle for €60.

Seeing as a snow foam lance alone is about 60 this seems like it might be too good to be true. Or maybe it's actually decent.

    Anyone know?

Dont know anything about the machines themselves, but to be honest Id rather spend a few quid and get one that comes highly recommended - Nilfisk C110
As little as makes no difference in power, but comes with much the same items, and has a slightly longer hose.
Ive the C120 for a few years now and it hasnt missed a beat!

Yes, its too good to be true on the snow foam lance with these deals - they are nothing near the same as a proper snow foam lance....they will produce a bubbley mixture but not a thick foam that will dwell for 10 minutes on the car.
Handy for some things...I know a few people use them for covering the car in a drying aid to help sheet off the water before actaully drying the car with a towel.

One thing going for the Lidl machine is there is a 3 year warranty, and I believe Lidl are quite good when it comes to issues with machines, direct replacement, pretty much without question, from reports Ive heard.

Ah pity about the snowfoam on them being no good, that's what was attracting me to it.

We actually have a lidl one at home but it's seen better days, but they are actually pretty decent for what they are.

hey Curran what snow foam lance would you recommend, im looking into getting the Uber Foamer?

The one from Autobrite is one of the best out there - dont seem to give any trouble.
Ive seen reports of others that have leaky connections, dont foam too well, etc!

My own lance is AB's and combo that with Cotton Candy, you're in snow heaven! :D

    EDIT:
Just to clarify, its Autobrite's Heavy Duty Snow Foam Lance that I recommend, forgot they had a standard one also!

    I have that exact one.
Not really impressed with the foaming.
Have tried cotton candy among others.

I am thinking either water pressure or Power washer getting tired.
What connection is on the nilfisk?

If its an AB genuine one, I have to say Im suprised!
Where did you get it; PM if you wish!

    Nilfisk is the Kew/Alto fitting

Have a friend who uses the AB one with cotton candy and is not impressed with the foaming either. Has to use the cotton candy fairly concentrated so doesn't really last long.

Would water hardness have an effect? I presume it would

I know Vectra will have been, but is your friend making sure that he is flushing water through the lance after he/she is finished using it? The snow foam solution can become quite sticky when left to dry and will cause the gauze at the top of the nozzle to become blocked. It can be taken apart and cleaned.
Hard water wouldnt be great for it either, but can be cleaned also.

Replacement gauzes can also be purchased if it cant be cleaned. It should be a clean wire mesh, no white crud on it. The metal fitting can be de-scaled in a similar way to a kettle!

I'll have to get back to him on that but I think it was like that from day one!

Presume he knows about the adjustable nozzle for the fan of the spray, and the knob at the top for the air mixture which results in thickness!

Here is a 20 step guide on how to Service a Lance ....just like our cars, they need a bit of TLC every now and again.

Should have mentioned earlier, that its Autobrite's Heavy Duty Lance that I recommend, forgot they have a standard one too! ;)

    Yes,
It is the one with the red nozzle. I bought it from Mark @ Autobrite.

Here's a very good video on how to strip it down:

BTW, the Autobrite foam lance is just a PA snow foam lance (made in Italy), rebranded.

The PA foam lance is the dog's danglies.

Just a quick question. Would this be ok to join a pressure hose together when I remove the area that is leaking.

It is an electric powered one.

Very much doubt it. The pressure hose is metal wound.
