    Title says it all really.

I'm a UCC graduate moving to Dublin in Sept, there's one society I'd like to join as I'd like to meet/work with people around my age.

As far as I know UCC societies were just open to anyone is it the same in TCD?

Pretty much. I don't know what the official position is from the CSC but pretty much any society will let you join and take part in events.

The Choral Society is definitely open to past graduates. I have 2 friends who are more than 20 years out of the place but who sing with Choral.

I've definitely had friends from other colleges join TCD societies during Freshers Week especially the Phil/Hist for their big guests. If it is one of those societies you are interested in make sure to 'like' them on FB or just write your email address legibly when joining because some of their bigger events are ticketed and the normal society card at the door on a Wednesday/Thursday evening won't get you too far.

The bigger events from societies like the Phil sometimes have stricter entry rules (TCD cards required, ticketed etc). I remember for Hugh Laurie there were a lot of disappointed people who didn't go to Trinity, but were still members of the Phil, and couldn't get into the event.

For general events or for smaller societies, I highly doubt they'd care if you weren't a student.
