Ikea kitchen planning service

Do I need to book an appointment for kitchen planning?

I've called Ikea a number of times to inquire about their kitchen planning service and to book an appointment. The first guy told me that you had to go in store to book an appointment. We live 3 hours from Ikea, so going there just to book an appointment for another day is ridiculous. The next person told me there was no need to book and to just grab someone on the day we are there. They wouldn't connect me to anyone actually working in Dublin. We have been using their online kitchen planner and would like to firm up our plans in store with a member of staff. We need to coordinate a trip to Ikea with child minding so don't want to have to make more trips than necessary.

We used their kitchen planners last year, just turned up instore without an appointment. We picked a bad time with it being a busy Sunday afternoon, but we were only waiting half an hour or so as they had quite a few planners working.

It'd be quieter there on a weekday, especially early on.
