Just an idea, your preferred crew line-up! Mine is a bit TNG-biased though!

    Ship: Enterprise-D

    Captain: Jean-Luc Picard.

My personal favourite Captain just edged Sisko.

    First Officer: William T Riker

I was tempted to go with Spock or Worf, but Picard and Riker work well together. I imagine a Sisko/Riker wouldn't be as effective. Hoping for some debate here :D Just don't leave him in charge of fighting any Klingon ships.

    Chief Engineer: Miles O'Brien

He's Irish, and even though the TNG crew had him as a Transporter Chief, in DS9 he proved he can handle a bigger challenge. My dilemma is La Forge. He specialises in engines and that's OK if you have someone like Data working at Operations.

    Chief Operations Officer: Data

I was always confused by what Ops did, and whether it was a fully staffed department. In DS9 they combined Engineering and Ops and Voyager they had an Ensign in charge of it all. Data takes it.

    Chief Medical Officer: The Doctor.

I love The Doctor. Leaving McCoy out was tough but The Doctor is a walking medical database. He made Voyager watchable.

    Chief Tactical/Security Officer: DS9 Worf.

Who else? On TNG he wasn't the best imo, on DS9 he kicked arse :P

    Chief Science Officer: Spock.

I don't know why TNG/Voyager didn't have a dedicated one. With the Science department and its sub departments it seem necessary. Data covered it on TNG and I guess Voyager was too small.

It was between Spock and Jadzia boring everything to death with stories about her hosts.

    Conn: Tom Paris.

I actually liked him even though it seemed like all he could say was engines are offline. That or Wesley :pac:

    Counsellor: Deanna Troi.

Troi takes Ezri Dax every day.

Anything I'm missing? Any problems with my crew? Post yours :D I only have one female character :o Janeway, Torres, Crusher, Kira, Dax all just are outclassed. Uhura and Sato are not needed anymore in the later series.

    Ship: Enterprise-D

Captain: same here, Picard, I would be happiest with him as a leader, he's not a micro manager, very intelligent, open minded and fair, on the other end of the scale would be Janeway and being on her ship would be hell.

    First Officer: Data

I think Data as a captain wouldn't be too far of a stretch, his ability in the role is demonstrated when he takes over that ship to deal with the Romulans, his incredible intellect combined with his lack of micro managing/political nonsense is again something I would appreciate and respect. Alternatively Spock, although I dont like his harsh manner with the crew, the only reservation I'd have with Data would be him going apesh1t which he's inclined to do on occassion, as the Enterprise crew have learned when Data loses it it's like dealing with the Borg, not good.

    Chief Engineer: Geordi

Geordi was able to innovate and come up with new designs. I'd pick Scott but just going on the TOS universe criteria there would be a lot of "I cant do this because the warp engines are blah"

Chief Operations Officer: 7 of 9, she seems good at all the efficiency stuff

Chief Medical Officer: Mc Coy or The Doctor, actually why not both, you can have a medical emh as a back up, The Doctor had the ability to innovate but I like Mc Coy's style.

Chief Tactical/Security Officer: I would go with either DS9 Worf, certainly not TNG, he was useless, or Tuvok who was a master martial artist.

Chief Science Officer: T'Pol or Spock, I'd just retrain T'Pol as she seems to have an apitude for science.

    Conn: Chekov + Sulu

    Counsellor: same, Deanna Troi

Alternatively for fun the captain could be Neelix, followed by Archer as first officer, Worf as counsellor and Troi at the conn.
