Just wanna try out the different switches and see what I prefer before I actually buy. Is there any store that actually sells them in Ireland so I can do this? Also shops that sell gaming mice? so that I can not pay for postage?

Order from Amazon and you won't have to pay postage on items that are super saver.

Maplins have some mechanical keyboards on display, and now and again have some decent gaming mice - their prices aren't great, but if you're just looking to try out some display models, it's not a bad bet.

Thanks both of you for your answers! I'll probably end up buying from amazon then and I'll go to maplins to check the keyboards out!

PC world should have a Razer Blackwidow Ultimatewhich has blue switches, and possibly a Logitech G710+ which has brown

Maplin may stock Corsair K60 and a CM Storm Quickfire TK (both red)

and the Blacks (Steelseries 6Gv2/7G) are stiffer versions of reds

Didn't know about. Do they let you play around with one for just a minute to get the feel of it?

Going to a store to trying it out then going home to buy it cheaper online, just says all. The future of retail is not looking good.

Retail is ****ed because its bloated. go in to some pc world stores and you can see more floor staff than customers. the pc world/currys where i live in the uk had 10 floor staff and 3 behind the till on and i was the only customer in the shop and everytime ive been in there theres usually only 5 customers in there.

I'd buy off retail no problem if retail would attempt compete with online. I bought my mech in pc world as it was only £10 (even £20-30 in some case) dearer than Amazon.

For PC components retail just doesnt work. components change and change price too much to be able to compete. again in the pc world near me there is a GTX Titan for £860 (which isnt terrible) beside a 8800GTX for £300 which has probably been there since the 8800 released

I saw a 3dfx voodoo GPU in the pc world in galway 2-3 years back ffs. i dont think the shop was even open when 3dfx closed:pac:

it depends on what you want to buy though. There are still a lot of things that end up cheaper in store but for a lot of things yeah, not lookin good

The future will be an online store with a retail showroom. Once the insane cost for retail space comes down you'll see more of this. My wife has a small online business and it would be nice to have a store where people come and have a look but high rent costs make this impossible.

I have a feeling this will only be possible for huge companies. Like the biggest companies
