    AFAIK your contract (hopefully a written one) is with your builder and any recourse you would have for the quality of materials or workmanship would be with him. IANAL

    Simple answer is no for reasons stated above. You're into legalities and certain rules apply. If you want to do as you say then you should choose and purchase the items Windows etc and supply them to the Builder. That way you control the Prices and the Choice of Materials. Then you have all the control including recourse to Manufacturers.
    You could however request the Builder to purchase all materials in your Name.
    Personally I wouldn't let the Builder make the choices as he'll be gone at the end of the Build and you will have to live there.
