Well Kilkenny city is a mixture of urban and rural people, neither far from eachother. I think this helps, and we know how important tourism is to Kilkenny, and we love seeing all the tourists in the streets.
Not saying other cities in Ireland aren't the same, but I think it is the size of the city that helps, and the fact it is a city we inherited from our ancestors, the beautiful architecture, the history and it is there to be shared with others and it makes us happy to see others enjoying what we locals also love about our city.
