The date on my car insurance disc is 05.08.2013. I would renew now on line but the value of the car is at least 5k more on the quote than it is worth. Can anyone tell me if I am insured up til midnight? Will 5k difference bring the premium down? I'm with 123.ie. And they're not there today. Thanks.

Check your policy and see what it says. Chances are youll be covered until 05/08/2013 23:59pm or something to that effect, but do not take my word for it.

If in doubt do not drive!

Usually gives the time and date on the insurance disk.

It just says 05 august 2013 and I can't find the written quote. Just wanted to drop some recycling stuff off so I guess I'll have to wait! Thanks for the replies.

Your expiry date is the last day cover is operative and your renewal date is the day the next period starts. i.e tomorrow

I presume the period on the disc is 6/8/2012 to 5/8/2013

Yes, that is what the disc says old youth.

Your covered so. Value put on the car declared won't make much difference as they'd only pay what its worth anyway if there was an accident

Yes but they will still take your money even if you overvalue your car on the policy. I assume the OP wants the premium to reflect the current value of the car rather than €5k more than it should be.

Yup but the quote isn't likely to change much if at all based on the value declared. Obviously best to check snd make sure though.

Do all policies not automatically renew unless you tell them not to? Mine have the last few years with Aviva and axa.

Variant on the policy really. If it's a Direct Debit job then probably.

They all generally lapse at 23:59
