Administrating Antibiotics by ingestion

    Why is this mode of administration not used/pushed allot more for adult animals. surly the benefits outweigh what some may consider the extra work. There may be another reason that 'those above us' dont want such practice

    We've used it a little here with weanlings, it's a fairly handy way of feeding but overall,its just not as good as injecting.The wastage of feeding it and the storage of it.In the case for cattle oral antibiotics most likely affect the microbes in the cows stomach which will in turn be affected so you lose a bit on the digestion end of things.
    And you can't garuantee the same dosage as you can in a syringe
