Spare wheel for Honda Accord (old thread)

I have a 13 accord and I'm really not happy with having to rely on the puncture repair kit Honda supply with the car. I was thinking of buying a basic wheel and fitting a cheap tyre that would only be used to get me home or to a garage. Would any basic wheel I pick up on something like donedeal do or would I have to get a wheel specific to the car. I would like to spend no more that 100 euro.

    Thanks

go to a breakers and buy one wheel of a crashed accord, not sure if other types of cars wheels will fit, should easily pick up one if not two wheels with decent tyres for 100euro
you might need to get a jack and wheel brace also as not sure if these are supplied with car or not

I know it doesn't fulfil your 100 euros requirement, but for 200 you can have a proper original honda spacesaver wheel.
    http://www.coxmotorparts.co.uk/genuine-honda-accord-space-saver-spare-wheel-16-wheels-p-1436.html

When you will be selling the car, you can sell spacesaver separately, and get most of the money back.

Surely one from a scrapyard for €40 or whatever would make more sense?

Just get one from a breakers yard. If the wheels are 4 stud then you needs 4x114.3 wheel, if its 5 stud it'll be 5x114.3 fitment/PCD.

Accord most likely comes with at least 16" and more likely 17" wheels.
Having full size one in the boot would be really inconvenient.

Are you sure he will be able to find appropriate spacesaver on the scrapyard to fit his accord for 40 quid.

Pretty sure an Integra Type R DC2 wheel would fit.

Thanks for the replies. From what people are saying, I'd be better off getting a space saver for the Accord that would fit in the well in the boot. 200 euro is a bit expensive for a genuine one though.

BMW charge about €100 more for their one. You should have tried to bargain down the price with the dealer at the time of purchasing the Accord.

Hi just had a blow out with my 13 Honda Accord. Obviously the puncture repair kit wouldn't work. I was lucky my mate has a car with 5 stud spare. He came out and I've borrowed his.
Just wondering did you find a cheap space saver for your Accord?

No, I didn't. Those repair kits are just not good enough.

Sorry for resurrecting an old thread but I'm still on the trail of a spare wheel. I've found a spare for a mazda6 with same stud spacing as my own and 195/65 R15 tyres. My accord is 215/60 R16. My question is would that below force spare? I suppose using my own nuts would be OK with this wheel.

    Thanks

i used partfinder and bought a space saver for mine an accord estate think it was €45 + 15 for the courier to send it out.
I had to remove the tray that was under the carpet to fit it in the spare wheel space.

Honda main dealer price was about 230eu for a space saver
I found another UK site that had space saver wheels for 150stg + delivery.
Decided to not bother with SS, and go with full size 16" steel wheel (to use as a spare against normal 225/50/17 Alloy):

    Ordered below from tyres-outlet . ie :

    Steel wheels with All-season tyres (LK 5 x 114.30 x 64.00)
Star_Performer SPTS AS with rim protection (MFS) BSW 215/60 R16 95V
    Honda ACCORD 2.2 I-DTEC CU 3 2199ccm 110 kW 07.2008-
Please note: Delivery without Tyre Pressure Monitoring System EUR 114,50 1 EUR 114,50
plus 9.90 EUR postage and packaging per complete wheel /alloy rim1EUR9,90
    Total Amount1EUR124,40

Not too worried if it's a bit proud of the wheel bay in the boot...

Was delighted with full size 16" steel wheel to use as a spare.
It did sit up an inch out of wheel well, therefore pushing up carpet cover which was not a good look.
As carpet could have been in better condition, and i put in golf and kids football boots, i picked up a fitted cover on ebay for 21eu.

    http www ebay ie /itm/Boot-liner-Cargo-Mat-Tray-Rear-Trunk-For-Honda-Accord-2003-2007-Black-/311951775877?hash=item48a1c65885:g:oyAAAOSwhChZqrpX

Put boot liner in today, and it fits perfectly, covers up problem with wheel pushing up carpeted lit, and it looks great!
