You know the way with UPC there's a bit of scope for haggling and getting a few quid knocked off your bill each month, are Sky the same?

Must be only customer in Ireland, if I ring up and even attempt to cancel sports or anything I will automatically get an offer

My brother pays €62 a month to sky basic plus sports. I told him last night to ring and cancel in the hope of getting a better deal, paying €62 at the moment whats the best he might hope for?

    Tks

Depends on which CS agent he gets. He should get on to cancellations if he's not happy with any offer he gets.

cancelled today as well after 3 years. no deal offered other than 2 months at basic pack for free. said no they said bye have a nice day. football season is coming up so more people probably ringing to add sports back on than cancel so not a good time to be haggling and he tried the line with me that I wouldn't have BBC if I cancel.

Cancelled last year, they've rang me 6 times since, offering everything up to 12 months half price.

Cancelled sky yesterday after 18 years transferred me to cancellations and was offered rubbish offers, would have stayed if they offered a basic pack at reasonable cost but nothing coming. Have to say happy I am now saving 109 per month. Now to look for a combi box..

I also cancelled sky about six months ago ...initially i was offered a poor offer to stay which i declined. I heard nothing from Sky until one week to cut off, then the barrage of phone calls with offers arrived. Having made the mental decision to leave them after ten years and put the 120 euro I paid to sky and Setanta to better use, I refused everyone. Having had about 12 phone calls from Sky I had to threaten them with com reg to stop the harassment. The representative said he would take me off the list...to my surprise a few weeks later another representative rang inquiring how I was coping without sky :D . I told him that FTA and Saorview was fulfilling my needs. He offered me free sky with no obligation for twelve months. To be honest I nearly took it but I didnt and I free better for it. Thats my escape story from Sky anyway. If I was bluffing Sky for a better offer I would have been delighted with my offers.

Just off the phone with Sky, I've just come off 6 months discounted by €24. Best they'll do now is a tenner off, which I took. They also gave me a 'loyalty' bonus of €4 off that I didn't ask for.
