    1. Monday 5THPier Float Fishing Howth East Pier 9am to 1pm

    This is agood starter for anyone who wants to learn all about fishing, there is quite anumber of different types of fish to be caught with this method, its also veryeasy way to set up.

    Fishing requirements: rod ,reel , float, weights , Baitworms , fish strip.

    U can comealong to watch or at any time of day .



    2. Thursday 8thBoat Fishing Howth 5pm to 9pm evening mackerelfishing trip



    3. Saturday 10thBass Fishing Sutton 9am to 12pm

    The bassare now moving in to the shallows where good sport can be had in landing thesesilver beauties.

    Fishing requirements: spinning rod/reel/plugs/lures/jelly fish, boots /shorts.waders.



    4. Sunday 11thBoat Fishing Howth 9am to 3pm

    Fishing forPollock, Cod, Wrasse, Coalfish etc.

    Requirementsare spinning rod, or light boat rod weights up to 2oz, booms



    5.Thursday 15th Bass Shorefishing Donabate Area 6pm to 10pm

    Fishing aknown bass and flounder area .

    No wadingor spinning as it’s a shallow beach

    Fishingrequirements: Rod, reel, bait venue crab, ragworm , fish strip.



    6. 7. Sunday 18th Boat fishing 1. Howth 7amto 3pm - 2.3pm to 8pm

    Fishing for bottom dwellers know as Ray, BullHuss , Smoothounds , Gurnard, Dogfish etc.



    8. Wednesday 21st CongerFishing Howth 9am to 1pm

    Not for thefaint hearted, this is fishing on the rocks at its best , also will need brutestrength to pull a big eel out , fishhas to be landed and measured or weighed to count

    Tackle requirements: large hooks 6/0 to 10/0 on 8ft of 150lb mono. Bait mackerel or any oily fish .spectators welcome !! bring your camera



    9.Thursday 22ndMackerel fishing Evening Boat 6pm todark



    10. Sunday25th Boat fishing Howth 9am to 3pm

    Fishing adeep ravine just off the Baily lighthouse known spot for Tope Ray an for the big bull huss, occasional bass.



    11. Saturday31st Shore FishingDonabate Area Bass /Flounder 6pm to 10pm

    All boat evenings/days must bebooked in advance

    12. Sunday 1stof September Barbecue Time, in Howth

    PHEW AFTER THAT WE DESERVE A BEER

    Kick off at 4pm food, ribs, beers, song etc inprivate garden in Howth

    Bringyour partners/

    Id be up for 1 of the boat fishing trips.


    Last time I went boat fishing from Howth,I ended up 8 miles out at the Kish Bank/Lighthouse and pulling in Ray,Doggies and Bullhuss.:)


    Also the Conger Fishing too.

    your welcome to come out anytime with me , there is a few handy spots now close in with Ray to 15lb /lots of smoothies around an taking crab of course , but also squid , hardbacks as well if your stuck .

    Ive a reasonable supply of frozen peeler and sandeel there in the freezer....(my missus really loves me for it too..:pac::D)


    Hardbacks are good for the wrasse,arent they?

    i hope thats not your pet conger in that pic as a lad from fairview was out at the kish with me and landed one of 17lb brought it home and had it for din din s !

    I wouldnt kill a creature like that in the pic.

    Allmost all of my angling (shore or boat) is catch and release for me.....apart from the odd mackerel or cod...(sometimes for tea or for frozen winter bait)

    Just getting the hang of this posting , yea loads of Ray dogs smoothounds etc were out 2 weeks ago got 13 species not bad for Dublin Bay

    hi the first day of the fest 2013 , was brilliant Nataly came along and had a fish within 3 minutes , not a huge one but something to write home about as it was her first fish , Terry and Philip dropped by and set up and started catching small wrasse , we moved then to the middle pier and met Bill again old frendships started up with a promise of a trip down south for Bass to a hotspot , so we will have some of that , on we go to the Mackerel Evening on the 8th let you know how things go

    I'd be interested in doing one or two of the boat sessions and the bass fishing in Sutton what tackle to i need for the boat,

    I have a boat rod and reel and also have a good bass lure setup

    is there any particular lures you would recommend for sutton?

    hi any amount of lures wont catch them , but as you know broadcast it here and the whole world knows , just have a look on the meetup site and then your in . have a number of brilliant spots by the way for lure fishing .
