Hi all, long story short-I need my timing belt replaced and a garage in the D15 area tried conning me (I'm a woman) saying I need this that and the other done...are there any DECENT car mechanics/garages who are straightforward and have decent prices?
    Thanks

Would you be willing to travel to Tallaght?

Wrong forum for this btw, maybe a mod could move it as appropriate?

    Detailing >> Motors

OP, what else did they say was needed? If they said pulleys then they are often changed too.
What car model and year is it? Mileage?

There's a really nice two man family operation in Terenure. I've gone lots of times and trust them to stick to the brief and keep me posted..I'm a woman too btw!

Pm if you want name and number

Btw from what I know its good idea to get water pump done with timing belt so that extra would be worth your while.

It would be handy if you said what type of car it is and generally what else was said about extra stuff. As said water pumps are generally changed if they are run off the belt. The belt tensioner could be changed depending on the car. As I said car details would be the key here.

I'm based in a garage in Tallaght if it's of any help and would be happy to quote you for the job, as a comparison if nothing else.
