Smithen by naturalism.

Its not often I post a new thread but I have a burning issue I want to discuss.
There not so long ago on a long trip up the country we stopped off for a bite to eat in a fine restaurant.
The welcome we got was sincere by the waitress.
I was instantly smitten by her natural looks and more so by her local brogue which I must admit found charming and refreshing, and none of the snobby accents one would hear whilst shopping in BTs or the like.
I kept getting lost in her smile so much so my OH asked me suspiciously
"do you two know each other?"
I asked why and she said "you cant take your eyes off her and she is constantly smiling and staring at you.
Anyway I copped myself on and helped feed my two young children before paying the bill, and had one last laugh and smile before we departed our ways.
    This got me thinking.
Isnt it better to be more real and natural without any makup or posh accent than yo be putting on an act, because when one gets married and move in with each other you really get to see the "other side"

Horses & courses, friend; it's a matter of what suits, and personal taste.

What I might suggest is that it's wiser not to appear infatuated with the waitress in front of your wife.

So a short encounter with a waitress who was working for tips made you question your relationship with your wife, and regret getting to know her "other side" despite the fact that she is the mother to your kids.

It's called a mid-life crisis Lando. The sooner you realise the waitress wanted a tip, more than your lovin' the sooner you can settle back into your loveless marriage again.

    \harsh truth

I would not have given him even that much knowledge, TBH.

well if someone is naturally good looking then of course that is much better than going out and finding an attractive girl only to wake up the next morning and find that after her make-up has worn off she looks like Golem.

I love figuring out who people really are and I like to think I can do it pretty quicky, usually. I always admire people who can face the world with openness and without pretence. These people are the best people IMO.

Isn't that what men have done for eons.. No makeup no fake tan just you the way God made you? I know as of late things have taken a drastic turn and it is now regarded as metro sexual for guys to wear makeup etc but it isn't like it is widespread.. Women on the other hand can be just fake completely head to toe.. And the reason is that some of them need to look drastically different to get hooked up.. And when it's too late and you're married the truth is revealed.

A weirdo who has failed his exams and he wants us to write his thesis and save his bacon.

Help if you want, by all means, but I caught that distinction too. Clever, is it not? Wink. Wink.

That bolded part could easily pass as a text on the Leaving Cert or something equally mind numbing.

Something to do with Smithers from the Simpsons I suspect...I just haven't figured out what the connection is yet.

So why post about the waitress at all then? To make the wife jealous? An ego boost?

Maybe she isnt wearing make up in bed

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

Misspelling in the title is a ruse used by posters to grab attention and make you want to read posts which you would otherwise ignore.
