I bought my wife a new huawei Ascend P1 from expansys

and it is to replace a rubbish galaxy Ace 1. Ram and internal memory is tiny.

As it is SIM FREE, I am trying to pick the best network for the best price and there are too many options. She is a heavy texter, light at using calls as we have house phone and a heavy facebook user. We have WiFi in the house so the data use will be small out and about. All her contacts would be mainly vodafone and O2 with the odd Meteor one for good measure.

I have compiled a list of current offers and I am still stuck. We are based in Newbridge. I have Vodafone for work and I know that 3G is ok in the town. I used to have O2 before that and that is also decent in the town. The others are unknown.

Each contract is a 30 day SIM only Bill Pay contract.

the meteor unlimited plan for 30 is good, i moved to meteor a few months ago and have had no problems. You are going to hear horror stories about every operator.
although if she is a light caller the meteor 200 mins one would be good for €15. vodafone are too dear for feck all in return, at least with meteor you have texts to everyone

48months. 60 landline minutes. 300 mobile minutes. 1 gig of data for €10 a month.

    They use 02's network.

She went with 3 in the end on flex 350. But looking at the charges, she is getting hit for voicemail. Still will not reach €30 and her usage will just about get her to one full month without any other extras.

Not sure if meteor charge for voicemail. We are free to jump contract after a few more weeks.

If on three with a phone already then the prepay sim option is better at €20
