I have a friends who's Nokia lumina simply won't turn on or charge she brought it into vodafone today and hey tried charging it via the computer but to no avail so they said they would send it off. They have her the SIM card back but told her they couldn't guarantee saving all the phones info.

Firstly as the phone is in warranty should vodafone not have provided here with a temp replacement ?

Next, is there any way of obtaining the contacts from the sim, if she uses another vodafone phone will it import the contacts from the sim, I thought vodafone had a tool that could do this.

I ask this as her mother is 92 and she needs to be in contact with her on a daily basis.

I don't have the exact model of the phone only that it was purchased at Xmas an is a Nokia lumina.

    The English language weeps...

Anyway if she has a Lumia (no N) then all her contacts will save to the Windows Live account she created when she started the phone. She can go to mail.live.com and enter her details and get her contacts.

Also GSM compatible phones have been out for the last ~15 years. Are you telling me she can't get another phone off anybody she knows? What happened to all her old phones?

Thank you for the reply, it's hard to write a coherent sentence when I'm in the cinema and on the iPhone, appreciate the time took to help.
