Just on the Setanta site there and thinking about subscribing. Only thing is though, its looking for the viewing card number. Does that mean it will only work on the one box or on the other ones (I've 3 boxes altogether) does anyone know.

Have they put the price up too? I thought it was €14.99 last time I checked, it's €19.99 now.

    This from the Setanta FAQ
Can I get Setanta Sports in another room?

Yes, Subscription to Setanta Sports in any other room is €1.49 for your second box and costs just €2.99 per box per month for all additional boxes. Simply call our customer services team to have this added to your account.

    Hi.

Can anyone tell me what the difference between the setanta ireland package and the setanta n.ireland package is?

ie Do you get the same bt and espn channels or just setanta in the north.

I looked up both sites but can't find any package info on the ni website.

N.I. customers have to sign up for the BT channels via BT itself.

The Setanta N.I website still has the rip-off prices:mad:.

In N.I you cannot get the Setanta & BT channels on the one package from Setanta.

Thanks for the reply. You don't get a lot for your 10 pound compared to what you get for your 20 euro in the south.

Does the white sky card in the 2nd box have to have an active sky sub? I used to have multiroom in the good old days-thanks!

None of your Sky boxes need to have an active subscription to get the Setanta package. They just need to have a card in them and be connected to your dish. I signed up over the phone and got the first multiroom free, together with the first two months for €12.99 (€19.99 thereafter).

Get a relative/friend in the South to sign up using an expired card and give you the card, you can fix them up with the €19.99 per month.

So if I use the white sky card (which was used originally as the multi room card before being deactivated) for Setanta it should work ok?

"FYI I do have a standard sky account on another box but I want to have the BT sport separately on another box which is the reason for this."

Thanks for the reply but I'm in Dublin and was thinking of getting a northern sub as it is cheaper but it only gives setanta so I'm going to get the Irish one.

Got the Irish sub myself! For the money its great and its in English! :)

Only problem is the first Sky box I bought was faulty and the card wouldn't activate in it! Eventually got it going and happy out with BT and ESPN in HD aswell! Lot of people moaning about the price, but in the long run its cheaper than some of the foreign subs!

How do you get the card for Setanta only (i.e. to use the card in a used Sky box without a Sky sub and where you don't have a Sky card)? The on-line site assumes you already have a sky card already.

Also, what channels do you get other than the Setanta pack? Just the FTA ones I assume?

Ring or email them and ask for a card under the BAI Sound & Vision scheme. When you get the card you need to call them again to get it activated. That will allow you to subscribe to the Setanta/BT pack and also receive the FTA channels you mentioned.

    Hi all

How long should it take for Setanta to issue my card. It will be two weeks on Wednesday since i contacted them. In the interim to speed up the process (I thought) I ordered a freesat form sky card on friday got it today and popped into my box. I then ring setanta but because the card is not registered at my address they couldn't activate it so the wait goes on.

Anyway to FTA card is working and as mentioned previously in posts there are setanta cards out there working on non SKY platform boxes that being the case when my card does arrive I might pop into into my combo box which has a card slot.

So finally does anybody have the transponder fequencies or correct link for Setanta Ireland, SS1, ESPN HD and BT Sports 1 and 2 HD. Tks thats it

i understand there was a promo code in the match programme for the Celtic V Liverpool game on saturday. See below

    LFC

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,170 ✭✭✭scout353

Promo was for phone orders and gives €10 off your subscription if you call 0818 20 30 40 and quote "LFC" Has to be done before Friday Aug 16 and doesn't mention whether it's just €10 off the first month or all the time! Does say T&C apply so I guess it's off the first month and 12 month contract applies!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,106 ✭✭✭Widescreen

Fyi, the white expired Irish sub multi room card I was thinking of using for setanta says "this is the wrong card for this set top box " on every single encrypted channel which makes me think it may not work for setanta? I'd have my details given before I'd know if it wud work I think!

I'd a white card which was doing the same thing till yesterday. I rang setanta, quoted SPFL for a tenner discount and the channels came on while I was still on the phone to the call centre.

I subscribed for 12 months for 189. That works out at 15.75 a month. Less than half the price of the best offer that I have heard from sky. I'd get sky sports if I didn't have to pay 27 euro for the rest of the ****e so called entertainment package that I don't want and will never watch.

Sky in Italy offer the sports channels on their own, maybe because there's more competition from other channels. I hope the setanta deal will force sky down the same route. At least bt sport look like they are in for the long term and it won't be as easy for sky to put them out of business like they did with setanta last time

Interesting, and now that you are connected does the standard subscribe to sky stuff show on all the other channels including the premiums? Sounds like they paired your card at the same time?[/I]
