3 people in a 2 seater?

I know it sounds dodgy as hell, so I was looking for clarification.

Basically I need to take two people somewhere next week, and only have access to a 2 seater car, the problem being that I need to transport two people (over 18).

Is it possible to transport more people than there are seatbelts, or am I going to get whacked with an almighty fine/points? I seem to remember something about it being allowed at one point.

Very frustrating as it's going to be a right pain in the hole otherwise!

You should be thinking about more than fines. Its unsafe.

I know its not a good thing to do, but its a once off thing. The alternative is that I won't be able to do it, which is damn harsh on them.

The question is: will I get points and fines?

It's not harsh on them. It's tough sh1t.

    Two seats? Make two journeys.

    Points and fine? Hopefully.

Be more harsh if you have an accident. You never know, you could be here next year asking about bringing 2 wheelchairs in a 2 seater with you, if your lucky.

I think you know the answer already. If caught youll be hit with points for an un belted passenger and fined. And hit with points for dangerous driving and fined. And hit with points for overloading and fined. Youd likely end up off the road for it. Id offer advice were it not for the fact Id certainly be booted:o

The biggest concern here is not just that there are drivers on the roads like the OP, but who after being told repeatedly that it's not "fine" then come back to justify it with excuses like "it's a one off"

People like you OP shouldn't be behind the wheel of a car

You've never done anything wrong in your life?

And after considering the whole affair, I won't be doing it, as it is not worth getting caught (along with the safety concern which I had already considered). Hopefully there was nothing wrong with asking, though I'm sure some sanctimonious sods feel vindicated now.

Not saying I've done nothing wrong in my life or behind the wheel, but I certainly wouldn't even consider shoe-horning 3 people into a 2 seater car
Nothing to do with being sanctimonious - and if something happened I don't think you'd feel that way either

But at least you've decided against it.. albeit more out of concern of getting caught than the risk you'd be putting that person (as well as yourself and the other passenger and potentially others) at, but the fact you've reconsidered is what counts I guess.

Murena was being sold alongside Talbot Alpines and Horizons in the 1980s, even had the (Simca) engine from one of them. The design was by French company Matra who later became part of Renault but high production costs as well as poor reviews did not help. Sold quite well in France even outselling Renault's Alpine for a time. There used to be a couple of them as company cars at the Talbot plant in Santy.

Just do it, if its a once off there's no harm.

Your two passengers must be ballet dancers or something. How skinny are they if you can fit them both into one seat?

You can always say Jesus told you to do it.

Anyway this one has run its course.
