The newspapers are saying that Radio 1 will replace pat kenny with two talk shows from 9-11 and 11-1, so where will Ronan Collins go ? Late Date ? RTE Lyric ? The Dole ?

I'd far rather have more Ronan and music than more moaning and bad news.

Can't see Ronan going anywhere, his show is popular and he is probably still on contract. The secret in radio is make changes seamless, look at fm104 for example. Just because Kenny is gone doesn't mean to say they will change the schedule radically. I believe Miriam would be an adequate replacement in the public's eyes, like her or not she's a household name and seemingly capable of doing the political subjects aswell as the lighter stuff. I think Miriam would comfortably go head to head with Pat. Rte clearly have a problem in the 9am slot with the very long and continuing absence of John Murray.

Nothing stopping them axing Murray & putting Collins in that slot. It's would sandwich nicely between the two talk-heavy sections of the 6am-1pm portion of the day.....

Collins was interviewed some time back (i forget what show) & he said he can't see himself there in 10 years time so maybe he'll retire? 'Sides he's got a nice sideline gouging out Joe Dolan hits ......

Does he know anything about classical music? If the answer is No, he will end up on Lyric.
