Ring the customer services of the courier, or ring Customs direct.

If it's held at Customs in An Post Portlaoise, then this is their number I believe 057-8634600

They possibly don't have your parcel, reason I say this, I've always been emailed by an post to let me know they where holding a parcel, and would like me to forward receipt so they can determine next action to be taken.

that is an An Post tracking number that the An Post website does not recognise. The seller should have given you a Hong Kong Post tracking number.

where are you seeing that it has been held by customs since July 12th?

i tried that number on the hong kong post site and it doesnt work.

How do you know that it is being held by customs? Did the seller tell you that?

    ebay sent me an email.

Are you sure that it wasnt a message through ebay from the seller? What did it actually say?

Either way, the number they have given you does not exist. You need to start a dispute now and then escalate to a claim if the seller does not send you a working tracking number.

i have been in touch with the revenue folks for the last two days, they have informed me that they sent me a letter on 15/7/13, thating the item purchased and the amount paid, i informed them that i have not recieved a letter from them, i have asked them to send another one to me by email, their letter was to staate the item purchased and the amount paid, surely it should have included the amount due to them.

    Revenue are fishing here.
The seller most likely filled out the customs declaration at either a lower value than you paid, or as a gift.
Revenue are in the habit of asking for a copy of the payment remittance from the buyer so they can check the amount actually paid against the amount declared by the seller.
That way they can gain maximum revenue.

I know that if you buy through ebay.co.uk you may be eligable for a refund or partial refund if you open a dispute case with seller. Not sure about ebay.ie but if its by courier and not signed for you have a case.
