Was it set at WPA originally? It's a bad idea to use WEP for security reasons. Anyone with half a brain can hack into your network and use your internet for free.

Better to get a new router from Eircom, or best to buy your own proper router.

Yes wpa first, Ill call them tomorrow and order a new router bit I've heard the new ones are crap!
