Salix Caprea - Goat willow

    Any good ideas for 40 potted willow plants?? As in to use in the garden. Iv a pretty big garden and its near the coast, exposed area out the back and mainly grass in the back areas.

    Problem with them is they are a pioneer species, meaning they will colonize any disturbed soil very quickly and as prolific seeders you'll constantly be pulling seedlings up.

    If the garden is large enough sounds good-would be a real food source for insects, and you can always cut back every couple of years. Sally wood when dry is great to burn.

    Silix caprea will grow in or around 8 Metres tall anyway wont it?? so it will look quite well as a plantation?? plus my brother is a tree surgeon so it will be handy :)
