Potential Break up

Hi all just having a issue with my girlfriend at the minute and needed some advice I am 21 and she is 19 and we are both in the same college on and off for a while typical college romance I suppose but before I left we were only in early stages of three months..

Anyway have been on a J1 for the past 9 weeks and things were not that smooth as due to lack of communication on her part. But I just let it roll over as she was working 6 days a week. Anyway am two days away from heading back home and today she rang me and blurted out how she cannot see me in august due to work commitments etc etc and how she doesn't feel like another month away is there any point? to staying together this has kind of come out of the blue..

Anyway we talked and decided to have another chat on monday and that she felt better after saying it to me but I just feel like a half eejit really for just sticking with her and 2 days away from home I get told I am bascially in limbo land on the verge of being single.

The question is should I just cut ties on the monday as if she is having doubts and I have not even been there. and she got doubts near my return is there any point? I just am mad that she couldnt have waited to tell me till I was home, I am fair upset in a sense as she asked me out also and I wasn't really up for a girlfriend due to this J1 and a previous one ending badly.. I just feel deflated

    Anyway thanks all..

I wouldn't be in a rush to get in touch with her again and I would not organize a meet up when you get back. She is acting like she wants to end the relationship, so just take this on board and leave her be. My advice would be don't contact her anymore. These things happen OP and you haven't wasted much time on her anyway. She should be dying to meet up with you after not seeing you for 9 weeks and now she is saying she can't see you for the month of August................

Feeling deflated is a natural reaction when someone breaks up with us, we don't like to think that someone doesn't think the world of us. There are plenty of other opportunities for you so best that you are starting a new life when you get back. Don't give her another thought, the world is your oyster !

Thanks for the advice guys took it on board and had a chat this evening as she rang me.. And well didn't really go well in the fact she was quite deatached with her answer of feeling "nothing" towards me and we are
finished.. Bit gutted that I wasted 9 weeks thinking about her and all she was doing was thinking about breaking up with me.. Have had a few girlfriends anyway so had a break ups before just I never had someone as deattached as this.. Anyway onwards and upwards I suppose. :)

If her attitude was that she felt "nothing" then you're better off anyway. She sounds like a headwrecker.

You'll be grand. Dont think of it as wasting those months, there's a good chance you could have met someone who treated you badly or met someone who treated you great. You can never know. Thats the way things pan out, and as cliche as this sounds, you learn something from all disasterous and great relationships. I dont think she's a headwreck either, I reckon its a 19 year old who committed too young and handled a breakup badly. Let her off now to get on with her life and you do the same. You're 21, great years ahead of you. Best of luck
