can't believe what actually happened today, made my personal best bag last week of 50 birds so organised a day in some barley today with my dad, confidence to a maximum after my last day out, he got a call during the week from a farmer saying his barley was well flattened and alive with crows and few pigeons knocking around. so dad went out and built a hide on wed evening and said the place was black with crows so it all looked good except for the weather forecast of course! anyway arrived this morning at around 7, not a lot happening so got the decoys out and was in the hide for 7.30, then straight away two pigeons decoyed in, dropped one, two more were downed in a couple of minutes, then went quite for a few minutes, next thing crows arrived and they didn't stop!!! it didn't take long to reach the 50 mark, we couldn't believe it, then the crows died off a bit and the pigeons came out, we got a few and missed a few too, they were really bombing in the strong wind. we finished up around 1.30 with a staggering 151 birds and two of the biggest smiles in the world!!! although my jaw was that sore it was hard to smile!!!! we fired roughly 190 shots(too many shells to count!!) final bag was 32 pigeons and 119 mixed corvids. have a pic of 24 pigeons we picked first and one of 3 i got with the dog after, dog got 8 altogether but it was letting it down so didn't bother with a pic at the end, don't have any pics of the crows as we were constantly thinning out the pattern. unbelievable day and doubt i'll have too many more like it! by the way dog is called rocky and is a spritely 13 years old!!!! i was using my beretta 686 white onlx and dad an old baikal sxs, cartridges were RC SIPE, 7 and 6, 32 gram, we find them excellent

Sounds like great crack. And bet the farmer was delighted also.
Keep it up while the corn is standing.

was in the hide for around for around 5 hours altogether.

yeah i would of liked a pic of the full bag myself as i don't think i'll be getting too many bags of that size, i would of been back out on it again this weekend only i had a wedding down in kerry so that took up the weekend, will be giving it a rattle sat though weather permitting.
