So has our recent good weather helped to improve your golf?

Looking at the rain over the last couple of days, set me thinking of the last couple of years and all the bad weather.

What I have discovered this year is that my game has improved not greatly but in the areas that were weak before. During the bad weather over the last couple of years I've spent many hours at the driving range. This year I've been twice in the last 4 months.

I've found that my swing has not changed much, if not at all. Probably down to not tickering with the swing and ingraining faults with reputation.

So I've not spent much time on the range. What the fine weather has enabled me to do is, put the kids to bed and head out to the back garden with the lob wedge to chip away for a hour or so. Low, high and all types of different shots. I,ve eventually found the errors of my ways with regards to chipping. So the weather has enabled me to practice the area which was so weak in my game. I managed to chip in twice last week 1 for a birdie and 1 for an eagle. Another advantage of the weather is that I am now reading greens better and my pace is more controlled with the constant roll I'm getting. Last thing that has changed is my course managment. I was one of those lads who would just take out the driver on all par 4s or 5s no matter what the distance. On other holes now I know I can drive over some trouble and carry it without any rise. My targets are better defined. This on its own has keep the rounds going. On other holes its a long iron or wood.

So my question is, has the good run of weather improved your game?
Or even improved your way of practice?

During that good weather our course had to lay back on the green cutting, leaving them a bit longer so they wouldn't get burnt. Slow greens with less breaks really helped my putting:D

I can definitely relate to the flashing drives on every Par 4/5. Recently i've been using my head a bit more and taking 3 iron from the tee when i know it will carry on the hard fairways. Makes a big difference and psychologically knowing that there is an 80-90% chance you'll be on the fairway rather than 50% (with the driver) it makes the round more enjoyable and my scoring better.

    No..

And I was feeling bad enough about my poor form so I didn't need this thread to compound the misery :)

My drought is coming to and end just as rainy season approaches. Starting to find some form.
I hit it high and long, with little carry, just like McIlroy, so I don't benefit from the bone dry fairways as much as ye lesser golfers that get your lucky bounces ;):)

It's been a disaster of a year so far... high expectations have been replaced with high 90's.
I'm just a multi million deal and curly hair away from being a top top player though.

Christ, what I'd give for a buffer zone!
Maybe I'll take advantage of the next fine spell... T minus 10 years :(
