So there's a very small and slightly noticeable crack on the front windscreen passenger side. It must have been present when I bought the car which was not too long ago, but I'm only noticing it now.

Looks to me like a small stone must have chipped it. I've heard you can get some sort of "sealer" to fix this? Is it expensive and would anyone recommend a place?

I've heard of Autoglass, never had anything to do with them but i think if you have windscreen cover on your insurance policy its free!

If you have windscreen cover on your insurance policy then it should cost you nothing to either have it repaired or the windscreen replaced and should not effect your NCB. Also if you are going through your insurance then you will need to contact them as they will probably have a preferred windscreen repair company that they use, otherwise you could end up paying for it yourself and then having to claim it back from the insurance company.

If you don't have windscreen cover then you will need to ring a few windscreen replacement companies for a quote. General rule of thumb around repairing is if the chip is larger than a €2 coin or located close to the edge of the windscreen then it cannot be repaired and will need to be replaced.

You can get a rough idea if it is repairable here:

I had to have mine replaced the other day and my insurance company used these guys:

Never used them before but they did a flawless job. Used autoglass in the past also so would recommend either company.
