hey lads i was wondering does anyone know much about these jeeps?

cheap for a first time driver? how much would insurance be on parents name roughly. 1.1 litre engine seems very economical

    something like this http://cars.donedeal.ie/cars-for-sale/pajero-jnr-manual-1-1-nct-tax/5447261

Much as i hate them, id sooner have a suzuki jimny over one. Parts will be easier to get, and because victory Japanese domestic market import it'll be more expensive to insure.
I wouldn't count on it being economical.

Jimny is a lot more popular than the pajero jnr, chances are they have an exhaust problem that costs more than its worth.

Nobody here can answer that question. Insurance is not bought off a fixed price menu.
