Is there anywhere in Ireland where they can repair a T Touch? Its a couple of years old and is losing time at random points during the day. The lcd display also displays garbage from time to time. The jewellers where is bought say they cant do anything with it and would have to post it away, is this the case ?

Yep, movement exchange only, and the movements are only available at Tissot UK.
Tissot used to have a repair agent in Ireland, I don't know if they still do.

    hi5 is perfectly right.

Also I would stick here (as another T Touch owner) that any repair even a battery change should be completed by Tissot on any T Touch. I had my first T Touch and it was out of warranty so I got a reputable but non Tissot watchmaker to replace the battery, and he accidentally killed the compass somehow it was never working after. As far as I know there is some sensor sitting in some jelly like material in the watch what can be destroyed easily by an untrained hand.

So my €0.02 is to send your T Touch back to Tissot if the watch needs to be opened for any repair. Strap sizing polishing etc can still be done by a generic watchmaker of course...

I had an old (well 15 years) Tissot repaired in Ireland just recently. I think I filled in a form on their website and somebody got back to me with what to do. They are part of the Swatch group so I was able to drop the watch into/collect it from the Swatch office in Lord Edward Street.

No complaints (other than the price but I was not expecting it to be cheap)

I had originally taken it to a local watch repair specialist but she was unfortunately unable to source parts. Swatch on the other hand just replaced the movement completely.

    Hi

as mentioned - Swatch group are the only people that will repair a T Touch in Ireland

interestingly though, when i sent mine to them a few weeks ago (via a Tissot agent) they mentioned that for the price of a full service (i think it was 190) they would replace my banjaxed 7 year old Mark I, with a brand new watch!

I'm still waiting it to arrive but it's a great deal if you're eligible

Exactly the same for me paddyh, I just received my new T-TouchII as a replacement for a faulty (5 year old, well out of warranty) T-Touch. The synchronisation between digital and hands went astray as did the operation of the main button, brought it to Murtagh's Jewellers in Ennis (as I had bought the watch in the states) who arranged carriage etc. New watch took 6 weeks (over Christmas) to come back but as I said, it an upgrade / replacement for what I had. Am happy to have been able to do it for €190.

Hi guys, my story is a little complicated...I bought a special edition Tissot T-Touch expert at Hour Passion in Dublin airport last summer. The LCD display started acting up after about 2 months, the display would appear faint and then go blank and stay like that for a week or so at a time. There was no battery warning and the watch responded to the Touch functions perfectly. Now I managed to lose the warranty card, but I do have the original receipt, however the shop would not accept the return without the warranty card. As a previous Expert owner with experience of changing the battery, I decided to replace the battery on this watch to see if that improved things. But still no luck, LCD display working intermittently. I did notice there was no rubber gasket inside the watch when I opened it up which might explain the source of the malfunction (the watch was never underwater though). Just looking for a bit of advice...should I contact Tissot UK here directly and plead my case?

You could try Swatch Group in Dublin first

don't have an email address but their details are......

    THE SWATCH GROUP IRELAND
    14-16 Lord Edward Street
    121059 DUBLIN 2
    Phone : 00 353 1 7645770
    Fax : 00 353 1 7645155

Swatch Group own Hour Passion in Dublin airport, so should be easy to match your serial number with what you bought, therefore proving the sale without the warranty card - worth a try

Same as above two posters. Just received my new T-Touch II for the "small" price of €180. The new watch is worth €750+ so €180 is a no-brainer for a brand new one and my old one was 8yrs old.

The centre touch on mine had stopped working. My local jeweller told me there was a replacement program for the T-Touch watches as Tissot were no longer supplying parts for the old T-Touch and they "kindly" said they would organise that for €280!

A quick check on boards and I found you guys so I sent it directly to Swatch in Dublin myself and a cheque for €180 and about 3 weeks later got the new model T-Touch II. I even got the dearer Titanium one eventhough mine was steel, so a good deal all round.

@KCross excellent service you got there, €180 is an absolute bargain for the upgrade. I got my expert repaired in the end at no charge (again thanks to the guys here) and Swatch threw in an extra 1 years warranty. Because I got good service, I have since bought the Solar edition.
