As it says, has anyone done this or know of someone who has? If so, can the deferral time be filled with research activities, lit review etc?

    Who's funding it?

You can only defer with the IRC for a 'legitimate' career break caused by something like pregnancy or illness.

Hi, UK university is funding. It is not external, funded purely by the institution itself.

That's a good point! Apprehension. Just curious to know others' experiences.
