Im feeling so scared and low in myself.

I was recently diagnosed with mild Aspergers Syndrome and Dyslexia.

Ive only one job in my life and lost it because of issues to do with a website fourm and im gutted over it. I was there for 5 years.

Anyway i cant afford to go to college (I have a Higher Certificate) and i dont knw what to do with my life. I feel like theres no jobs out there.

I broke up with my Girlfriend this year as well and the more i think about it, the aspergers (which i had no idea i had til this week) contributed a bit and i probly wasnt ready for a girlfriend.

I feel so worthless, i loved my job and now its gone. All i want is a job, something to do.

    Advice

Can I recommend a book? It won't answer your immediate problems, but it is a story of how things can work out just fine with Asperger's.

Granted, Daniel Tammet is an unusual case, but his experience of learning to adapt to autism is quite inspiring.

I'm so sorry to hear about your job & difficulties - work is so important , and loosing a job under any circumstances can be so traumatic particularly if it came as a shock & if you loved it.

I wouldn't dwell on the " slight/mild asbergers" diagnosis too much- it's shocking to be told you " have" something but the key thing is to move forwards & find ways to adopt & manage.

I know its not the same, but while you are looking for a new job Have you considered volunteering - it will give a social outlet & a bit of structure, and will help demonstrate what a good person you are both as an employee and as someone who is bothered enough to volunteer. You might meet someone new through it & will certainly broaden your circle of people & possible opportunities .

I hope you feel a bit better soon ; the darkest hour is before dawn; don't give up.

Just incase you don't know, each and everyone of us are on the Autistic spectrum at some point. Please do not get hung up on the label. Nothing is different to what it was last week or month. As for the dyslexia, there are numerous techniques that you can learn that will help with that. Having read your post (that had no spelling errors that jumped out at me!) I think you will be fine.
