    Guys,

Had an interview there with Citi but I cancelled it primarily because of a thread I read on here. Are they really that bad too work for (Funds)? I'm shocked because I was eager to jump at the chance and couldn't believe the negativity !

I think you are crazy to run down an interview for them based on some disgruntled people, I've worked in funds for 15 years...had some good times, some bad times...but mostly good...as in all large work places certain people will flourish, some will wilt, some will be just happy to potter along and a lot of the time it just depends on the group you work in and your clients.....madness to turn down an interview in my opinion

I read that other thread and it was ****e. I worked in citi IT for a year and had a blast. For the most part everyone is sound (3000) people in the building so gonna be some dicks. Don't turn down work just because a couple of people didn't like the place.

I can't believe you'd turn down an interview based on a few opinions online. You should have gone for the interview - good experience at least. You'd have gotten a feel for the place, and you could have always turned down the offer if you'd gotten one.

I've never worked for Citi, but I spent a few weeks working in their offices. Seemed fine, good atmosphere ... no worse than any other similar place. From what I've heard, they're certainly not the worst out there.

I work there, and I have friends who work in similar financial institutions around Dublin, they are no better and no worse than other employers in this field. There is a lot of opportunity to learn, and do training, both online and on the job, there are good facilities on site including a gym, the people are on average friendly and nice - it is really a question of whether you put yourself out there and avail of these things, or sit back, do nothing, and complain. I would not rely on the opinion of a few boardies, given that the place that has thousands of employees, as poster above says. I personally love my job there, and know lots of others who do also - not saying it is not difficult at times, it is, but then it is also difficult at times in other jobs, no difference to other similar places from what my friends tell me.
