Swapping wheels - fine tuning needed?

My good and winter wheels both have 11-25 cassettes, although the good wheel has Ultegra, the winter 105.

Question, do I need to do any fine tuning to the indexing after swapping?

Possibly.Or get the spacers that go on before the cassette right.Def dont stick it on the inside sprocket[largest sprocket]without doing all the checks.Ripped spokes, broken hanger, derailer problems, etc all possible if you dont do the checks.

i think 105 and ultegra are the same width hubs so you should be fine. but yeah check the limit screw on the lowest cog;)

Something else to beware of when swapping wheels is the brake track. Most of the wheels that I have used have a brake track of the same width but one set of my wheels (Rolf Prima) has a narrower track and unless my brake shoes are adjusted exactly right (and are not significantly deeper than the brake track) they'll extend beyond the track and onto the rim wall - at best you get poorer braking performance, at worst you get that plus cause wear on the rim beyond the braking track.

Adjusting the brake shoes on both of my bikes to be in the same position improved things a lot but I also had to stop using SwissStop brake pads as they were too wide/deep for this one set of wheels. Making those changes meant I could swap any wheels between both bikes without problems. It's a rare enough issue I'd imagine, the Rolf Prima's are just a bit odd in that respect, but it's something to bear in mind just in case.

Oh, and also check whether the brake pads are hitting the rims simultaneously too. They should do unless the dishing of the wheels you've swapped on is out a little, but something else worth checking for.
