    http://www.limerickleader.ie/news/business/limerick-ff-candidate-chinese-are-fishing-for-crispy-duck-1-5341448
A FIANNA Fail local election candidate has accused Limerick’s Chinese community of fishing for duck on the wetlands - to sell later in their restaurants.

Joe Crowley, who is standing in City North at next year’s local election, believes groups of fishers are trying to snare the river animal - for “crispy duck in the Chinese restaurant tonight”.

But his claim has been dismissed as “incredible” by Cllr Jim Long, who chairs the Limerick-China forum.

Mr Crowley saw three Chinese men with fishing rods at the platform of the shallow Westfields Wetlands, off the North Circular Road this week.

But they were not seeking seafood, he said.

“To my mind, fishing from this platform can only spell one thing: these guys are out to get ducks.”

What a twat. Please Limerick, throw this idiot off that platform.

Surely a deed-poll change to Cllr Lim Jong is called for right there.

...or dog. Back in the day somebodys brothers mothers sister would have found a wee identity badge off the collar in the soup/meal. Now somebodys sisters mothers brother finds a microchip in the soup/meal.

Is there a pillory in Limerick where racist idiots like this could be pelted with stereotypical potatoes?

The Chinese have raised concerns about what they call the "Fianna Fáil community" fishing for votes in the Limerick newspapers.

Looks like he is on his way to becoming a senator. I once went fishing/ducking for ducks and caught one that was this big *holds out arms* dragged the boat along after it. Never seen anything like it....wait....how the hell do you catch a duck with a fishing rod? There has to be better ways of doing it, like sending in ninjas or something

Time for a Limerick on the matter.

There was a young man named Crowley.
Three Asians fishing did he see.
If crispy Duke was a fish.
    On a Chineese dish,
These bastards were getting it free.

If I saw someone in Limerick fishing in 3-4 inches of water using bread as bate I'd naturally assume they were drug dealers.

    Clearly a cultural misunderstanding:
Cormorant fishing is a traditional fishing method in which fishermen use trained cormorants to fish in rivers. Historically, cormorant fishing has taken place in Japan and China, as well as other places throughout the world.

To control the birds, the fishermen tie a snare near the base of the bird’s throat. This prevents the birds from swallowing larger fish, which are held in their throat, but the birds can swallow smaller fish. When a cormorant has caught a fish in its throat, the fisherman brings the bird back to the boat and has the bird spit the fish up.”

This lad doesn't know his ducks from a cormorant...

    Chinese, great bunch o' lads.

Crowley said that he rang the journalist who wrote the story, Nick Rabbits, and asked him about the quotes attributed to him. “I rang the journalist and I asked did I make any racist comment and he said, ‘No, you didn’t.’”
This evening he has been condemned by the European Network Against Racism in Ireland with director Shane O’Curry calling on Micheál Martin to expel him from the party, describing Crowley’s comments as “completely baseless”.
“Remarks like these have no place in Irish political life, and run counter to the anti-racism Election Protocol to which Fianna Fáil has signed up. Does Fianna Fail really want to have its name increasingly associated with racism?” O’Curry said.

    Priceless
