due to a new job i don't get out on the bike as much as i would like and really noticed my lack of saddle time last week in the meath 100km. with young children in the house its hard to get away for a few hours every week for a social spin so i was thinking of doing some indoor cycling. would it be best to get an exercise bike, a spinning bike or a cycle trainer. i don't want to spend a load of money so maybe the cycle trainer would be the best bet and it is small and easily stored away, but are they actually any good for fitness?

the new tour the france bike looks very nice although well out of my budget

Yes. Also for effective indoor training on a budget, look up SufferFest.

Excellent for hanging clothes on also. It's a win-win situation.

I am in the same boat as you and now have to rug rats running around so cycling really suffering.

Would you give Spinning classes a go? would save you buying the bike - try it out before you buy. A decent Spin bike is around €1k!

If you are in the Dublin area I can recommend an excellent Spin instructor classes are 45 to 90 minutes and will greatly improve core fitness?
