We are in process of buying a 2nd hand house, but the ceramic floor tiles in the kitchen and yellow and I am wondering if its possible to paint them with special paint? Or would it be better to get them replaced altogether?

In terms of cost and durability. Thanks

The kitchen floor is probably the most used floor in a house. It is also in a wet area and therefore any floor finish needs to be as antislip as possible. I also cannot see how a painted finish would last in such a trafficked area

I have never seen a tiled floor painted and i have never come across a product that does it, i would assume on both counts that it is not know or does not exist on the basis there would not be a demand. A new floor is the only way to go on this in my opinion.

I paint my kitchen floor every 3/4 years. I use red floor paint - protected stricture so I can't mess with the floor - works just fine!

It can be done. However it depends on how secure your tiles are bonded. I would advise using a good water based epoxy paint. Slip resistance can be a problem though. Be very careful.
