Fetac Offers CAO 2013

Heys guys just wondering about fetac offers from the cao ? I applied for vet nursing in Athlone IT, and i know today was the offer date but i got nothing so im kind of worried !! I got 2 distinctions and 6 merits which is a total of 300 fetac points. Can anyone out there who did a fetac course and got into vet nursing in AIT help me or anyone with knowledge about the offers at all thanks a mill "

There is still round one though, so you might get something there, even though you'll be competing with LC students too. I am in same boat as you, except I am hoping for something in media or culinary arts.

Offers for the IT's are issued on the 19th of August with the leaving cert results so you should get your offers then

Hi, I also applied for Vet Nursing in AIT. I got 7 distinctions and a merit and wasn't offered a place. I got in contact with AIT and they said they gave out 8 places today. They got a lot of applicants with 8 distinctions and it went to random selection. Still might have a chance next round.

I think because Athlone is a IT that means that the offers wont be out til the 19th of August with the Leaving cert ones so you still might have a chance

Due to changes in the FETAC awards and the way FETAC points are calculated do not assume that what happened last year is the same procedure this year.

If you wish to know whether you are competing against other FETAC applicants only or against Leaving Cert students then look at the code on the extreme right hand side of the list of courses on the page Information for FETAC applicants on the CAO page. They are as follows;

UPD - The score is used to rank applicants among school leavers as well as those presenting FETAC.
MAN - The score is used to rank FETAC applicants for consideration for entry to a FETAC quota course.
ONE - The best score in a single FETAC assessment session are used for ranking purposes.
MLT - The best score in any combination of FETAC assessment sessions are used for ranking purposes.
ART - The FETAC assessment will be combined with an assessment carried out by the HEI offering the course (e.g. an art portfolio assessment or an audition).

If you have a question contact the Admissions Office of the college you are hoping to get an offer and ask them when the FETAC offers are made.

In the case of Veterinary Nursing there are very few places available to FETAC applicants across all courses and you do not compete against Leaving Cert students for places in AIT but against other FETAC applicants.

I got an offer in psychiatric nursing in ucd using my fetac, but i also was offered by dcu of general nursing. I hope ill be offered childrens nursing in round 1. Wish u guys all the best

Can someone pls answer this?!! Do fetac applicants applying for gmit through cao get there offers on the 31st of July??! Or with the lc offers?

Hey! It says on the cao website that fetac applicants get their offers on the 31st of July which is this Thursday. I just created a thread on my page for it :-)

Depends on the course. If it is a course that has a certain number of places for Fetac students (in GMIT there are only a few) them offers are out on Thurs. However most courses in GMIT your FETAC grades are given points and then you are competing with Leaving Cert students. I am hoping to go to GMIT to, what course are you hoping to study?
