Hi,

I'm sure it's a relatively straightforward question but struggling to find an answer on google.

I've a 5 year old Specialised Tricross bike, the spring isn't working anymore as it looks like a piece of mental holding the spring tension has snapped off.

It's a tiagra triple for 9 speed drive train, clamp on 31.8mm - I tried finding one online but they seem to discontinued.

My question is, can I use a 105/Sora/2300/etc front derailleur? If so will a triple for 10 speed suffice or will this cause me hassle? What's the difference in terms of front derailleur 9 vs 10 speed? Wider cage?

Waffle over, help much appreciated!

You can buy a braze FD such as this:

And buy the clamp separately.
