A Class window switches

A design fault only becomes apparent when something goes kaput.

My wife left the sunroof slightly open on her 2002 A Class prior to torrential rain. The window switches are directly beneath the sunroof.

She then proceeded to attempt to open the windows with the switches wet. They went about 30cm before stopping and haven't worked since.

It has been 3 days now and I've managed to get the windows up manually by removing the door trim. Removing the central console to get to the switches does not seem so easy though.

I can still see water in there. Do people think they'll ultimately dry out and start working? Could a hairdryer help the process? Or are new switches the only way forward and, if so, does anyone have ideas on access?

    Thanks in advance.

wd40 or ac90 or similar water dispersant spray, if you can see the water you can get the spray in there, use a hairdryer as well and you may get lucky.

You may have blew a fuse when you tried to put the window up. I would check the fuses and dry out the water then give it another chance.
