Just waisted a whole afternoon of my very limited 'free time', anyway can anyone give me a solution to a what should have been a simple 5min job,I'm trying to remove my EGR from a 2001 VW Passat 1.9Tdi AVB Engine. And there's one bolt putting a complete stop to my endeavours, as you look at the EGR from bumper it's the one on the right (both are underneath) the inlet manifold is in such a position it completely prevents me from using torx key or even socket set!!! :( oh btw just ordered torx 40 T bar from local supplier at small money, but wont have it until early next week, and not 100% convinced it will do the job, anyway thanks in advance.

Ah sorry didn't really explain my problem fully, anyway am not interested in disregarding the EGR or even blocking it off, I just need to remove it so I can get the turbo to EGR pipe off, thanks anyway. Well has anyone got a solution:confused:

I used a 1/4 ratchet spanner with a allen key to take it off my AVB engine last week.

Allen key or hex torx! I took the left bolt of with torx key 40. I wont be able to do this untill next Tuesday so want to make sure I have exact fit...and as you used ratchet spanner it must have been allen key you used, so now I'm little confused.
    Thanks in advance.

You can get torx bits to fit ratchets
