Not home during the day, what options for delivery?

Like many others, there is no one home in the daytime in my house between 8am-6pm.

As a result if we order something online and its too big to go into the letter box we get one of those delivery slips and it goes back to the sorting office or depot.

The problem is, its not convenient for either of us to go to the depot as we work miles away so not near there during working hours.

I looked into a PO box but besides extortionate rent, you can only access them in the depot during "normal working hours".

What other options are there? We occasionally ask the father in law to pick up stuff but tbh Id like a more permanent solution. Having things delivered to work is not an option for either of us.

TLDR - where can you get large items delivered to so that they can be collected out of hours.

If asking a neighbour isn't possible, there's always parcel motel!

Wow - quick response - I will look into this.

Is it possible to collect out of hours from them? How does it work? It would be brilliant to have a solution because we both do a lot of online shopping.

Why don't you get things delivered to work?

Frowned upon. Not long in new job either, don't want to be rocking the boat.

And himself is not always physically in the workplace so doesn't really suit him.

Yes, I did think of the large post box but I cannot change the appearance of the outside of my front door due to mgt company rules and, I think it'd be a magnet for gurriers tbh.

What about getting it sent direct to the father in law, I'm guessing he might be retired so usually be home.

    +1 for Parcel Motel.

    It works great.

The problem is that he often isn't at home so while he can sometimes go to collect with the delivery docket, that's just hassle for him.

I'd really prefer just to handle my own mail and not be looking to neighbours, relations or work to get delivered to. There's also a privacy issue for me. I don't want people questioning or prying into my deliveries.

Parcel motel all the way, fantastic service and good price. They really rolled out the service well in fairness to them.
