unregistered sim card

hi everyone, i have a sim card/phone which i have not used for over 6 months. it is a vodafone sim card. it says on the phone screen that i have an unregistered sim. Can i still keep the sim card if I ring vodafone and get them to re-activate the sim again or is the sim card no good anymore? thanks

If its only 6 months yes you can get the number back once you ring them and then topup
