Look at the NFC.ie Airline Pilot Programme "requirements" and it says: "Have a good knowledge of English, Maths and Physics" and I'm just wondering how vital they are? I have a leaving cert H B1 in Maths and a H A2 in Physics, would this be enough? Do they check exam results or is your knowledge tested as part of an aptitude test in the centre or something?

    TIA

You're grand with those maths scores. You need to be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide. There is a little bit to Trig and the odd square root sort of thing. If you passed the higher maths paper you will have no issues. It's only really the ATPL theory exams where and slightly tricky maths comes in.

That requirement is aimed more towards people who have real difficulty with maths and may have done foundation at JA/LC level. Some people just have a mental block for maths and would struggle with the maths in avaition. At the end of the day though you can use a calculator!

I got B1s in O Maths and Physics and I had no issues with the ATPL exams!
