Sold all the weanling bullocks in the spring this year, near 30 all told but had to keep a two freisins cause they were down as females and 3 jersey bullocks that i had kept for a lad that said he wanted them but never came. Anyway i had 5 left so i said id put them in with the heifers so that they wouldn't be taken up a field on me. Well the jersey bullocks were brilliant come breeding time i got two chin balls for them and they were well able to pick up the heifers on heat. I served all 30 heifers in 6 weeks without using any other aids.
Think i will be using them again next year on the heifers:D

Now wasn't that better than shootin' them!.... and they all lived happily ever after!

Have a whitehead bullock at the minute with the cows, great for picking out ones that are bulling. Twin heifers are suppose to be good also, big hormone imbalance or something with them. They are fairly worthless as calves so might as well use them as a teaser. Je bulls themselves are suppose to be very dangerous, as they are small and nimble you have utterly no hope of escaping one if he flips while your in the same field/yard as him, I assume not much risk of the bullock turning though?

there really quiet they love comin up for the scratch. I wouldn't keep one as a teaser let alone a je bull for the readon there so vicious.

I had 8 of them a few years ago, when they were 2 year olds in the month of November the factory agent came to look them at dusk he stood in the middle of a 3 acre field and me with him with one bull walking around us tearing the ground and roaring  I was ready to make a run towards the ditch but the agent stood his ground for at least 5 minutes without taking a bit of notice, he did make a few roars back at the bull though.

jersey101 I would imagine you wouldn't have many takers for jersey bullocks this spring.

tbh we normally get the nackery to take them but i got the notion of tryin to sell em. Wont be doin it again. Its just handier to get rid of em every week. I had to look at them bulls the whole time wishing they were heifers :/
