I am planning to construct an outdoor workbench and small rainwater collection raised pond, both from concrete... my problem is I have no access to materials to build the formwork other than going out and buying new timber (which seems a little wasteful to me). has anyone got any suggestions of where I might source some rough timber or offcuts?

How about the wood from old pallets?

yeah I guess they could work, would probably need to source a lot though to provide adequate strength for the formwork... pain in the ass removing the little nails, I guess they could be knocked back, i'm going for a rustic boardmarked look anyway :D
