Hi there, did this happen to your TV in the recent hot spell? Mine (LCD) lost picture gradually during the heat, wonder if that has anything to do with it.

    1. TCon Board or caps on that board.
    2. Panel is gone

Get someone technical take the back panel off the TV and check the cables going onto the board to see that they are seated correctly (the TCon is dead centre at the Top). If they are and the problem persists you may need to replace it. You should not do this unless you know what you are doing or you could electrocute yourself, even with the power out.

Is it still under warranty ? If so manufacturers problem.

You should not do this unless you know what you are doing or you could electrocute yourself, even with the power out. I can vouch for this piece of advice,if attempting this job DIY style, after unplugging, allow the TV to sit for half hour or so, just to be on the safe side and let any remaining power to drain off.Anyway I had similar problem with a LG42-3000, this is what I did and it solved MY particular problem,OK I cleared the kitchen table, covered it with a large bath towel, lay the TV face down and removed the back, and proceeded to spray a very light film of electrical switch cleaner (E.S.C)over the entire surface,I also unplugged all connections bout 4 or 5!! and sprayed a light coating on both male and female sides. Then basically I let it sit to reach all components and to evaporate. And it did the job.:)
