Does anyone know if will there be any New Channels to be added to Sky for FREE!

Really Sky should have RTE News Now & get Digital Teletext from RTE, TV3, TG4 & 3e; along with local radio & Today FM from Ireland should be added to it as they have RTE Radio 1, 2fm, RTE RNG, RTE Lyric & Newstalk.

    What does everyone else think?

In Ireland, broadcasters have to pay Sky to carry output and its completely understandable even from sky's point of view why they'd carry basic terrestrial channels . Can RTE afford to add additional channel or do they feel its necessary given the success of saorview. As for commercial operators such as Communicorp - they have Newstalk but none of their other stable. Why though in general you'd put Irish radio channels on sky in Ireland and pay for the privilege is beyond me

Today FM is available on most transmitters nationwide but the Newstalk licence is only quasi-national (from a limited number of transmitters), satellite gives them greater coverage probably.

Do RTE still pay Sky to be on the EPG or is it the other way around?

In the UK BBC, ITV and Channel 4 have to pay Sky to have their channels on the EPG which is ridiculous. Sky should be paying them to allow them to use their channels.

I find it odd that Newstalk is there but Today FM isn't. Same owner and broadcasting from the same building.

Presumably Newstalk also costs less to be carried since it's mono. Also there may be differences between it and Today FM due to music royalties and such.
