I have been offered a interview with this crowd, anyone have any experience with them?

They seem to constantly have the jobs advertised, so I am concerned for high turnover of staff etc...

No experience with them. I do know two of their managers left pretty early on after their initial launch. That can never be a good sign.

If your looking to build a sales career stay away from companies like these. If your not hitting the numbers they will turf you out which will not look good on your cv.

Contant advertising usually indicates high turnover of staff for the above reasons. Always go with your instincts which you have..

I am not sure what area you want to go into in your sales career so i cant offer any further advice.

I have over 14 years Sales & Management Experience within the FMCG Sector but I decided against going for the interview as they emailed me late at night (approx 10pm) with my interview details and wanting a presentation reading for the following morning.

The job spec also had a 'probationary period of four weeks' which to me drew huge concerns and the fact as the jobs have been constantly advertised I put it down to huge turnover of staff.

I'm currently out of work but I'm not going to be unrealistic and go work for someone where I'll be out the door for failing to hit a target (as we all know, you have good and bad weeks).

You made the right decision here for sure. Its tough out there already without having some company messing up your cv.

    Good luck going forward anyway.

Has anybody any advice on how I can break into sales in the FMCG sector. I have 5 years sales rep experience working in the flooring industry but I cant even get past the application stage of the jobs I'm applying for. Any help would be great.

How does your CV look? Is it just the basic 'where you worked' or have you a detail of what you did?

Hi. Its very detailed and I have had it checked by some contacts that work in HR for some big company's and they have said it is quite strong. I applied for a job in the FMCG sector through CPM and when my application was rejected at the first stage I rang and asked for some feed back. The girl I spoke to asked me did I know anybody working in the likes of Dunnes Stores and Tesco's and when I said I didn't she said that was why I was rejected. Maybe that is more an indication of their attitude.

Unfortunately nowadays companies can pick and choose whoever they want and I found that not have a 3rd Level Qualification was a big issue on my CV despite my 14 years experience.

I'm now working with a family run business who were more than delighted to take me on as my experience was what they wanted. I'm not near the money I was on 5 years ago but I had to take a step back career-wise in order to get a job! That might be the way forward for you?

I'm going to start a part time degree course next year to help enhance my chances going forward.

I've tried to get into a supermarket and go at it from that angle. Get to know Reps and how the process works but the only way opening I could find was doing a Jobsbridge/Internship role but I didn't even get a reply for that. Frustrating. Money is not my be all and I don't mind taking a step back salary wise but not even getting past the application stage is tough.
