Do you have to pay VAT on top of your order when ordering from Amazon.com to Ireland?
I'm enquiring about a tablet (Nexus 7) which I wish to order?

Not sure, that's the american site it's a bit odd. You should use amazon.co.uk tbh, don't use their currency convertor tho it's a rip off. Just order in sterling.

The nexus 7 is a lot cheaper to buy direct off google, but you have to use parcel motel since they don't sell in Ireland.

The new nexus 7 isn't out in the UK until september so I wanted to get it now from the US

Click the "estimate my tax and shipping" and it should tell you. It's not just VAT there is also import duty to pay on it, you will save a lot of money if you just wait for the european release.

When I try to order nexus 7 FHD on amazon.com it says they won't deliver to Ireland tho :(

I used Comgateway to give me a US address.
You get a 10 % discount and free express delivery upgrade.

At the moment it is coming in about 50 euro cheaper than waiting to buy in Ireland but if I get caught with Vat will come in about same price.

No duty to be paid on laptops/tablets.

If you are a vat registered business & it is a business purchase, you can register your vat number with Amazon & then any items that Amazon themselves supply (Not other sellers) will be zero rated.

That works on amazon.co.uk, not on amazon.com. Intra-eu purchases are treated differently than imports from america.
